Colorado dude ranches

Colorado's guest ranches sit high in the Rockies, from the Granby and Kremmling valleys west of Rocky Mountain National Park to the San Juan Mountains near Durango. Most run weeklong, all-inclusive summer stays built around trail riding, fly fishing and programs for kids.

If real cattle work is the goal, Colorado is a harder fit. When we researched these listings, the Colorado ranches that offered regular guest cattle work had stopped taking guests, so cattle time here is usually a single drive day, a themed week or an arena clinic. For daily ranch work, look at Montana and Wyoming.
